Job description:

To ensure the successful delivery of the Online Replatforming initiatives, we propose onboarding one additional Frontend engineer in a consultant capacity, positioned within Web Foundation Team under the Product Operations budget.

This role would act as a flexible enablement layer across impacted teams, supporting critical implementation efforts, accelerating delivery, and reinforcing technical consistency where demand currently exceeds available capacity.

Several teams are already operating at or beyond sustainable limits while facing non-negotiable deadlines. Without targeted reinforcement, this creates a tangible risk of delivery delays, increased defect rates, and downstream operational inefficiencies. Given the visibility and strategic importance of Online Replatforming, any disruption would not only drive additional cost but could also impact customer experience and brand perception.

Introducing this role provides a controlled and efficient way to stabilize delivery, protect timelines, and maintain quality standards - without requiring broader structural changes. It also ensures that existing team capacity remains focused on priority outcomes, rather than being diluted across competing demands.

This is a time-sensitive intervention aimed at safeguarding delivery commitments while enabling teams to execute with the level of quality and predictability expected at this stage of the program.

Requirements:

• Strong full-stack engineering experience with deep expertise in Node.js and React, capable of building and maintaining modern web applications end to end.

• Proficient in TypeScript with hands-on experience designing scalable, maintainable, and strongly typed codebases.

• Solid experience designing and developing Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architecture, creating APIs and orchestration layers tailored for web and mobile clients will be a huge advantage.

• Strong understanding of system design principles including caching strategies, scalability, reliability, performance optimization, and observability.

• Proven experience building and operating large-scale, high-traffic applications in production environments.

• Hands-on experience with modern Node.js frameworks; prior experience with Fastify is a strong advantage.

• Strong expertise in unit testing and automated quality assurance using frameworks such as Vitest or Jest, with a focus on maintainable test coverage.

• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices including clean code, testing, code reviews, CI/CD, security, and maintainability.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and business teams.

• Detail-oriented team player with practical experience working in Agile environments, including sprint planning, estimation, iterative delivery, and continuous improvement.
